Mountains and Coasts (age 7-11)

This resource uses amazing BBC video and audio clips, images and interactive activities to look at some of the world’s highest peaks and most dramatic coastlines.
It enables you and your class to explore the key features found in these environments and to get to grips with aspects of the curriculum.
The ‘Writing focus’ features provide great opportunities for a range of written work around this topic, and there are cross-curricular links to history, science, art and design.
Topics/key questions covered include:
- How mountains influence the weather?
- Erosion and deposition at the coast
- Living and working in these contrasting environments
- Leisure activities from skiing to the history of the British seaside holiday
